Aikon’s Idea-Management application brings together the best-of-breed Social Networking/Web 2.0, BPM and Analytic tools to support the Idea-to-Prototype lifecycle.
The Leadership Team is able to socialize strategic focus areas (Themes) using Web 2.0 tools like blogs and discussion forums.
Ideas are invited around these strategic themes.Participating members can author and submit their ideas which are then stage-gated through community validation, teaming and execution of prototypes. The analytics provide a real-time view of activity within the community, enabling timely intervention by community administrators.
The way it works:
Stage 1: The Leadership Team communicates and socializes themes that are strategically important for the organization
Stage 2: Community Members (associates) respond posting ideas corresponding to the Themes. Using the viral tools provided, Ideators attract other associates to respond thus creating a buzz and buy-in around their ideas.
Stage 3: Community votes on the ideas and provides feedback; Ideators use the feedback to rework and tweak ideas leading to improved results.
Stage 4: Post feedback and voting, basis the poll results and relevance, ideas are selected and approved for further process.
Stage 5: Approved ideas are progressed to a Collaboration Space provisioned on the platform. (This can be configured as a private space for Ideators to work with their chosen team members; resultant deliverable/s at this stage may well be a high level Business Case for the idea).
Stage 6: Post evaluation of business case, ideas progress to an Execution Space. Expectation at this stage is a detailed plan/design, proof-of-concept and/or a prototype.
Stage 7: Teams present their executed plan or prototype to the Leadership Team to approve execution and roll-out.
Ideas that do not make it through any stage due to organizational or other constraints, can be banked in the Idea LiveStore – to be accessed anytime.
Workflows for stage-gating ideas, steps at each stage of the process and any other requirements specific to an organization can be customized as the product has an embedded BPM engine.
